~1 year after using qutebrowser

I remembered that I wrote this (1bc6bc) post about a year ago. I feel bad for abandoning Firefox. I have to admit that I use qutebrowser most of the time and I use Google Chrome when things just don't work very well (DRM, Google-optimized software, etc.). My trusty Firefox is still installed though.

It's not an easy year to try a new strange browser. I believe I am now much faster navigating the web by using qutebrowser. It's more hackable too, I think (probably because I was more familiar to Python than to Firefox/Chrome plugin dev). I love the Vim keybindings. It feels fast.

My experience was greatly improved when I moved to qt6 version of qutebrowser (1857d7a6). I went from using my Debian distributed qutebrowser to cloning the repo and just staying up-to-date. qutebrowser is not that stable, but the community is great, there are almost always a way to solve my problems.

I even got free stickers from Florian Bruhin (author of qutebrowser).

The one thing I dislike the most is that proprietary codecs are not always bundled together (available only on certain distribution of QtWebEngine or if you build it yourself). Other than that, it's my favorite browser. I think it will improve very greatly in the future.

Thanks, qutebrowser!
