WSL setup notes for practice labs
Normally, I just have one WSL instance that I normally use for penetration tests/work environment. I need another environment so I don't mix things up. Here's how I did it:
Create another Kali Linux WSL distro with name kailan:
wsl --install kali-linux -d kailan
Spawn the shell on the new distribution:
wsl -d kailan --cd ~
I use NAT mode, so sometimes I have to forward port from the OpenVPN interface on Windows to my WSL instance.
netsh interface portproxy add v4tov4 listenaddress=192.168.45.137 listenport=443 connectaddress=172.47.128.19 connectport=443
